Driven by love and meaning
We created La Belle Mèche for us, for our friends, for our family, for you. We wanted to bring a little joy into people’s lives with a brand that was meaningful. Fragrances are comforting, endearing, conjure up special memories, and remind us of life’s simple pleasures. We want our scents to strike the perfect chord at every note and trigger powerful emotional responses.
For us, finding meaning is, for instance, using only products made in France, from the wax to the fragrances to the boxes. It’s sourcing nothing less than fully recyclable containers and – where there's no other alternative – plastic that is recycled (meaning no new plastic is made). It’s being bold in our fragrance compositions, which are always free of toxic substances and endangered raw materials.
It’s also a matter of challenging ourselves, finding balance, fumbling around in the dark occasionally, then making the right decision and never straying from our fundamental values. While we hold our hands up to not practising zero waste and know we’re not going to save the world, we are trying in our own small way to make the most positive impact we possibly can.

N°1 I Simplicity and boldness ✨
Our goal is to go back to basics by creating home fragrances that capture the small pleasures of daily life and the happy memories of good times. We promise that every fragrance smells precisely as described on the label. We guarantee our products are free of bells and whistles, elaborateconcepts and our brand name everywhere you look. Our fragrances are figurative, fusing updated classics with original accords.
Our products are simple, minimalist and colourful, designed not for special occasions but the everyday. Absolutely no frills. ‘Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication’ said Leonardo da Vinci, words that La Belle Mèche swears by.
N°2 I Creativity and savoir-faire ✌️
Nothing sweet and sickly here. Just fresh, pure and simple. Underscored by an authentic contemporary signature. All our products are made in France. Starting with the fragrances, not least because France possesses one of the world’s oldest perfume centres, in Grasse. Never compromising on quality, our ‘noses’ have struck the perfect balance between perfumery staples – lavender, cedar, vanilla, forinstance – and extraordinary raw materials such as osmanthus, immortelle and davana.

We are conscious of the world around us and the impact we can have on it. Every decision we make – from using vegan wax or CMR-free fragrances to fully recyclable plastic – is guided by our mission to make the world a more sustainable place.
