Focus on our wellness candles
Among the reasons for using a scented candle, there is of course the question of well-being. Who hasn't wanted to pamper themselves with a good scented candle? In our most intimate moments, lighting a candle can bring a real feeling of well-being. For example, when taking a bath, or during a quiet reading time in the evening, it is pleasant to be able to enjoy the flame of a small candle.
That's why we have developed a range of candles especially for your well-being: our Apothecary candles.
Our range of wellness candles
Our Apothecary candles are specially designed to take care of you. Unlike our scented plant candles, they are not intended to scent your home and create a pleasant olfactory atmosphere. Indeed, they do not contain perfume from Grasse, mixed with soya wax (without paraffin), but only essential oils. These have been carefully selected by a certified aromatherapist to offer you the most effective synergies. In this way, they will help you to relax, to concentrate, or even to drive away mosquitoes. A real aromatherapy treatment.
What is aromatherapy?
Linguistically, aromatherapy is a word composed of the prefix aroma meaning aroma and therapy meaning care, cure. Thus, historically, aromas and plant essences were used to treat the body and everyday ailments. These aromatic essences are also called "essential oils".
Essential oils are volatile essences, obtained by steam distillation of plants. The plant / spice / etc. is extracted from the odorous components that will allow us to obtain powerful fragrances. There are hundreds of them, based on flowers (rose, lavender...), leaves (eucalyptus, tea-tree...), roots (vetiver...), woods (cedar, sandalwood...), resins (incense...) and many others. These ingredients are also used in the manufacture of 100% natural perfumes.
Although essential oils have been used as medicines since the 11th century, it was in 1910 that the Lyon pharmacist and perfumer René-Maurice Gattefossée discovered some of their properties in France. He burned his hands badly during his research and ended up applying lavender essential oil to his wounds. The results surprised him and he ended up devoting part of his research to the properties of these different oils. It was partly thanks to him that the word aromatherapy entered the common language.
The properties of essential oils are numerous and depend on the oil used. Thus, they can be: anti-inflammatory calming stimulating soothing aphrodisiac insect repellent etc. They can also be used in different ways. But today, we will concentrate on its use in the form of a candle with essential oils.
